ARTNOW 2025 Nominated Works Featuring a TreeArt Student

Cover work

Nineteen nominated works from the 2025 ART NOW Global competition, each credited to the institution that submitted it — among them one by a TreeArt student in Singapore.

The Global Top award of the 2025 ART NOW Global Contemporary Art and Design Competition goes to thirteen young artists, chosen a second time from among the Gold Art Award winners. This second selection of works nominated for the final award brings together nineteen pieces from Singapore, Australia, China, Canada and the United States.

Every work below is credited to the institution that submitted it. One was submitted by TreeArt in Singapore, and we show it first; the other eighteen come from studios and schools around the world and are shown alongside it, each with its institution.

Artist Statement

My artwork depicts a simple yet meaningful market scene, emphasizing its role as more than just a place to buy fresh produce. Markets are vibrant hubs of social interaction, where diverse people come together, fostering community and connection. However, this liveliness is fading as technology replaces such spaces with online shopping. To capture this contrast, I used a greyscale color scheme for the surroundings while coloring the people, symbolizing how human presence brings life and energy to the market. Through this piece, I aim to evoke nostalgia for simpler times, reminding us of the irreplaceable value of human connection in our increasingly digital world.
