What is OpenKids?

OpenKids is a Singapore-headquartered children's education platform operated by OpenKids International under TAFA Group. It unites four specialist brands — TreeArt (creative arts), Futurum Academy (STEAM and coding), AK Robotics (competition robotics) and GaiaX (global admissions) — on one in-house AI teaching stack, serving children from age 3 to 24 across 12 markets on three continents.

Is OpenKids a franchise, a licence or an education partnership?

OpenKids runs a tiered partnership system rather than a single off-the-shelf franchise. Partners are licensed to operate the brands, curriculum and technology at one of three tiers — Launchpad, Accelerator or Master Partner — each with its own territory, brand count and support scope. The exact legal structure and terms for your market are confirmed in writing during discovery.

Who owns and operates OpenKids?

OpenKids is operated by OpenKids International, the education platform of TAFA Group, headquartered in Singapore. The group runs its own direct campuses across Singapore alongside its partner network — so every playbook handed to partners has been proven in directly operated centres first.

Which education brands are included in a partnership?

Four teaching brands: TreeArt (creative arts, ages 3–16), Futurum Academy (STEAM, coding and AI, ages 4–16), AK Robotics (VEX competition robotics, ages 10–24) and GaiaX (global university admissions, ages 10–24) — plus the in-house technology stack of MagiBox teaching system, MagiDesk teacher console and CRM. Launchpad partners start with two brands; Accelerator and Master Partner tiers carry all four.

Do I need an education background?

No. Most of our partners come from finance, engineering or business. You bring market understanding and commitment — we bring curriculum, training, technology and brand.

How much is the investment?

Investment levels vary by country, location and tier, and are confirmed on your discovery call. Every figure is documented before you sign anything.

How fast can I open?

The average is four to six months from agreement to opening day; the fastest partners have opened in six weeks after signing.

Is my territory protected?

Yes. Every tier includes territory protection, from a 3 km radius at Launchpad to exclusive country rights at Master Partner level.

What ongoing support do I get?

Training, curriculum updates, competition access, managed marketing and the MagiBox + CRM platform — for the life of the partnership.

Do I have to run the centre myself?

You need a committed operator — you or a general manager you trust. Year one is a build; plan to stay close to it.

Can I open more than one centre?

Yes. Accelerator partners hold second-centre rights in their territory; Master Partners operate multi-centre networks with sub-licensing.

What language is the curriculum in?

English first, with bilingual delivery where your market needs it. All materials, training and the platform are delivered in English.

What territories are currently available?

Availability changes as territories are signed, so the live map on our Global page is the source of truth. As of mid-2026, recruitment is open in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the United States, among other markets. Each protected territory is granted to one partner only, so open cities are confirmed on your discovery call.

What is included in the initial investment?

The initial package covers partner and teacher training — including ten days of immersive training at Singapore HQ — full curriculum licensing and certification, the MagiBox + CRM technology stack, site-selection and fit-out standards, and pre-opening marketing. Exact amounts vary by market and tier, and every figure is confirmed in writing before you sign.

How are the revenue figures calculated?

Figures such as S$1.0–1.2M mature-centre annual revenue and the 120-to-500-student ramp are averages self-reported by operating partners across the network. They are unaudited, and no individual result is guaranteed. Before signing, you receive the underlying assumptions in writing and can verify them directly during due diligence.

What local licences are required to open a centre?

Requirements differ by country. In Malaysia, for example, an enrichment centre typically needs company incorporation, registration with the local education authorities, premises and signage licences from the local council, and fire-safety approval. HQ provides a country-specific licensing checklist and walks you through it during setup — operational guidance, not legal advice.
